Boy, this look like fun! I like Tarantino films. I think Django Unchained might be his best to date. This looks right up there with it. I’m real glad he got over his little tantrum and made this film.
I haven’t posted in quite a while, and many of the trailers I’ve posted most recently have been family oriented affairs. This is something different. This is a gritty period piece set in the early 1800s. This looks fantastic! I’ve wanted a movie with a setting like this. The trailer doesn’t give much away in terms of story, but the presentation looks wonderful. This looks to be a personal story, possibly intertwined with larger events of the period, but it is not a war movie about the Revolution or the war of 1812. It is something different that is very enticing to me.
There has been much buzz lately about other films and trailers, and I suppose I should add my comments to those conversations at some point, but I ran across this trailer and for the first time in a while felt compelled to share. This film looks beautiful and seems to have a nice message to go along with it. This is a new presentation of the classic story “The Little Prince” and the framing of this retelling is what makes the whole thing so attractive. Check it out!
I’m not sure how to feel about this. Its great to have the Peanuts characters in the forefront again. That part I like. I just don’t know about this update to their look.
The approach taken here is interesting and more fitting than a more traditional 3d movie look like one used on Dr. Suess’ characters in The Lorax. The movements and animation feels right. If it HAD to be done in 3d, I’d have to agree that this is the way to do it. But did it have to be done in 3d at all?
This of course leaves out the question of what the story will be. Blue Sky has done pretty well so far, so I’m hopeful.
If you told me that I’d be excited to see a Godzilla movie, I’d have said you were nuts. That is until these trailers started coming out. Oh please don’t let me down! These look amazing and I’m actually interested in seeing a giant monster movie. Cloverfield didn’t get me excited with it’s trailers and neither did the early trailers for Pacific Rim. In the end, I found Cloverfiled to be a great movie and Pacific Rim was quite fun. Can another giant monster movie work? That is, beside Evangelion.
So what if you took E.T., sprinkled in a little Batteries Not Included, and then made it a found footage movie? This appears to be the answer. From the trailer, this looks to me like I movie I’m going to wish they didn’t make as found footage. The story looks like it will be good and the storytelling glimpses you get from the trailer are solid, but the found footage feels totally like a gimmick and not like an advantage to the movie like it did in say, Cloverfield. Hopefully I’m wrong, but I think it will get in the way of a good movie.
Perhaps this will be the movie that the Kinghts of Badassdom hasn’t had the opportunity to become. Nerd-dome will have it’s movie, in some form or another. This looks quite funny and not as slap stick as the other one. Both I want to see.
Ever since I saw the first trailers for the move Robot Jox so long, long ago, I’d hoped for a good giant robot movie. Transformers does’t count for what I’m talking about, I need robots piloted by humans. The initial trailers for Pacific Rim had be worried. This latest trailer is better, but I still have concerns. Please, let this be a good giant robot movie!
A classic in anime and one of the greats of my childhood, Captain Harlock looks to be getting a full CGI animated movie this fall. The trailer looks impressive to me. I hope the story holds up.
From the director of Iron Sky comes some test footage of his next film. This isn’t really a trailer, but does a good job of setting the world and introducing the character. The test looks fantastic and I think this could be a real enjoyable film. I haven’t seen all of Iron Sky yet, but have liked what I’ve seen so far.
